This spring compressor is purpose-built for the removal and installation of rear coil springs on vehicles such as VAG, Ford, BMW, Mercedes and others where the spring seats into the rear wishbone arm.
Designed for use with rear suspension systems that allow access via a central wishbone aperture (minimum Ø30 mm), the tool features a robust telescopic rod system. This rod is inserted through the access hole, allowing connection of either the small (66–120 mm) or large (90–140 mm) diameter plate sets to the spring’s upper and lower coils. Each plate is secured in place with a retaining clip.
A 1/2" drive force-limiting torsion bar is then inserted through the same access hole and engaged with the telescopic rod. Rotating this bar compresses the spring safely and evenly, enabling efficient removal. The installation of new springs is performed using the same setup, ensuring repeatable, secure results.
Advantages:
Removal and installation of rear springs without axle disassembly
Extended clamping range of 125 mm for deeper coil engagement
Compact base unit design suitable for limited-access spaces
Slim-profile telescopic rod (max. Ø29 mm) for compatibility with wishbone arms featuring small bores
Integrated torsion control element limits torque during compression, allowing safe use with impact wrenches
Supplied with two pairs of plates covering spring diameters from 66–120 mm and 90–140 mm
